Jackie Travers graduated from the University of Vermont May 2008 with a major in Environmental Sciences, following 8 semesters on the Dean’s List. She was also on a Presidential Scholarship for 4 years. Ms. Travers took courses in environmental hydrology, ecological risk assessment and pollutant movement in the environment. As an undergraduate, she also worked for the Watershed Alliance, assessing the quality of Vermont Streams, and on an air quality monitoring project. She is skilled in soil and groundwater sampling and the use of ArcGISA At RWMA, Ms. Travers has assisted in analyzing nuclear transportation accident analysis for the State of Nevada using GIS software, and in evaluating the effect of NORM contamination on workers in Louisiana.
Ekaterina Alexandrova (Ekat for short) graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University in May 2009 with a major in Environmental Science and Policy. She joined RWMA in August 2009 after performing field work in Bangladesh, investigating microbial diversity in arsenic contaminated groundwater. As an undergraduate she also did research in the Amazon rainforest in Peru and found time to start a Pan-African Dance Troupe, ORISHA. She is skilled in ArcView GIS. |
